My StoryAt first I didn't know I was an incest survivor.
Then I knew and couldn't say it. Couldn't unstick the words from my throat. Then it became my job to say it. Incest Survivor. I used to call it the "I" word. I had to learn to say the words. Then it was my job to own it. To tell the truth of my childhood. To say it a hundred thousand times. To speak it out loud. And eventually, it was my job to move beyond it. I am many things, including an incest survivor. I embrace all of me. And now it is my job to help others heal. |
